Christine Hendrix was born in 1931 and grew up on a farm near Rimby, Alberta.  As a child she fell in love with the beauty of God’s creation.  She received a Fine Arts Degree at the Southern Alberta Institute of Alberta in 1980.

Christine has had two successful solo art shows in Calgary, and has been a past member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.  She has won many awards for her outstanding art and some pieces have been acquired by the Alberta Government Art Collection.

In 1999, Christine and her husband Steve moved to Tahsis, a quiet, peaceful, port village on the west coast of Vancouver Island.  She found challenge and excitement in painting the ever changing, rugged west coast scenery.  She drove many back roads and logging trails where she would paint on location.    She sold her art from her home gallery where many people from all over the world purchased her landscapes and still life paintings.  Although her work is quite realistic, it has a looseness that expresses her inner contentment.

Christine now lives in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.  She currently displays her art in galleries in BC, and her work is featured in many private collections.

What is a Giclée print?

Giclée is a French word for little drops of ink.  In art circles a giclée print is considered the best quality print available. It has the best color and contrasts and most closely resembles the original art. Giclée prints will not fade appreciably for at least one hundred years. All of Christine’s prints are giclée prints using pigmented inks on acid free fine art paper.
